MOC governance allows participants to vote on protocol proposals. Before voting, read the discussion in the Money On Chain forum and review the proposed changes.

Prepare your voting position

MOC is the governance token of the ecosystem. Voting power in this flow comes from MOC deposited in staking. Holding USDRIF or RIFP does not give the same voting power.

Use a compatible wallet on Rootstock Mainnet (chain ID 30), with MOC and rBTC for gas. If your MOC is not yet staked, open Staking, choose Stake, enter the amount, approve MOC if requested and confirm the staking transaction. Check your In Stake balance before opening Voting.

Staking withdrawals have a 30-day waiting period. A vote can also lock the involved stake until the governance lock ends, so review the proposal’s dates before committing it.

Understand the proposal stages

  • Pre-voting: support a proposal to help it advance. Support submitted here carries into the vote under the governance rules.
  • Voting: vote for or against a proposal.
  • Implementation: results are consolidated and approved changes can be executed.

The proposal displays its current stage and deadlines.

Connect to Voting

Connect your Rootstock wallet and open Voting in the ROC dApp or the Money On Chain dApp.

You need rBTC to pay gas for the transaction and MOC stake for voting power.

Review the proposal

Open the active proposal and check:

  • The proposed change and affected contracts.
  • Its network and scope, including whether it affects ROC.
  • The forum discussion.
  • The current stage and voting deadline.

Cast your vote

  1. Select the support or voting option available for the current stage.
  2. Review your choice and voting power in the confirmation screen.
  3. Confirm the transaction in your wallet.
  4. Check that your vote is recorded after confirmation.

The MOC stake involved in voting can remain locked until the governance lock ends. Check Stake in Voting and the proposal’s deadlines before requesting an unstake.
