This guide introduces the main ways to use RIF On Chain. You will learn what each token does and which operation to choose.
Before you begin
You need a compatible wallet, rBTC for gas and access to the dApp.
RIF On Chain tokens
USDRIF
USDRIF is a stablecoin designed to track the US dollar. You can mint it with RIF or DOC and redeem it for supported collateral through the protocol.
RIF Pro
RIF Pro, displayed as RIFP in the dApp and called RIFPRO in technical documentation, is designed for users seeking leveraged exposure to RIF. You can mint it with RIF and redeem it according to the protocol’s available capacity.
MOC
MOC is the ecosystem’s governance token. You can obtain it through exchanges that list MOC on Rootstock, stake it and participate in governance. It is not minted through ROC’s collateral operations.
Mint and redeem tokens
Use Exchange to select the token you send and the token you receive. You can mint USDRIF with RIF or DOC, mint RIFP with RIF, or choose the reverse direction to redeem.
Use combined operations
In Combined Operations, you can mint USDRIF and RIFP together by depositing RIF, or redeem both for RIF. The application calculates the required amounts of each token.
Stake MOC and participate in governance
MOC staking allows you to participate in the ecosystem’s staking rewards and governance mechanisms. You can manage your stake and vote on active proposals through the available interfaces.
Prepare and connect your wallet
Select Rootstock Mainnet (chain ID 30) in a compatible wallet. Keep rBTC for gas and RIF, DOC or the tokens you want to redeem. Open the application through the website’s dAPP button, connect and check the selected account.
Complete an Exchange operation
- Open Exchange and choose the input and output tokens: RIF → USDRIF, RIF → RIFP, DOC → USDRIF, or the reverse direction to redeem.
- Enter an amount. Review the calculated input and output amounts, fees and Price Variation Tolerance.
- Approve the input token if requested. An approval grants the contract an allowance; it does not execute the exchange.
- Click Exchange, review the summary and confirm in your wallet.
- Follow Last Operations through queuing and execution, then check the resulting balances.
Complete a combined operation
In Combined Operations, select RIF as input and enter the USDRIF output amount to mint USDRIF and RIFP together. The application calculates the RIFP output and total RIF needed. Reverse the flow by selecting RIFP as input to redeem RIFP plus the calculated USDRIF amount for RIF. You must hold both input tokens for redemption.
Manage MOC staking and voting
To stake MOC, open Staking, select Stake, enter an amount, approve MOC if requested and confirm. Unstake starts a 30-day waiting period without staking rewards on that amount; Withdraw returns the tokens after the unlock date. Restake returns an eligible request to staking.
To vote, open Voting, read the active proposal and its forum discussion, select the support or vote option available at its current stage and confirm in your wallet. Check that your vote is recorded. Voting uses your MOC stake and can lock it until the proposal’s governance lock ends.
